ABY/Dare2Share 2015 Youth Conference Report

What an amazing weekend! Our Ohio American Baptist Youth participated in the annual Dare2Share evangelism training conference March 6 and 7, 2015. Thousands of youth gathered in Grove City for a weekend of dynamic worship, powerful speakers and evangelism training. This was our eighth year partnering with Greg Stier and Dare 2 Share Ministries for an amazing time of sharing and celebration.  

Following the Friday session, the American Baptist Churches of Ohio sponsored our annual After Party. It was a great time of fellowship, pizza, sharing and a devotion to conclude a great Friday!

The American Baptist Churches of Ohio is once again partnered with Dare 2 Share Ministries for our annual American Baptist Youth Conference at the Dayton Convention Center. This will be our eighth and final year partnering with Greg Stier and Dare 2 Share Ministries for an amazing time of sharing and celebration. Thousands of students (grades 7-12) participate in this conference each year.

Third Baptist Church Youngstown Celebrates 140 Years

The weekend of October 18, 2014 marked 140 years of ministry at Third Baptist Church in Youngstown. The congregation, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Morris W. Lee, DD, is the oldest African American Baptist congregation in the city, having been organized in 1874.
The occasion was celebrated with a gathering of about 100 descendants of the founder of the church, Rev. Pleasant Tucker. Rev. Tucker and his wife, Eliza Jane, arrived in Youngstown while blacks were leaving the South after the Civil War, hoping to carve out a better life after the end of slavery.

Rev. Peter and Sarah McCurdy of Madison, Ohio have been endorsed for ministry in the Dominican Republic where they will provide support and encouragement to pastors and pastors’ families related to four International Ministry partners as well as extending ministry into Cuba.
