Update from Rev. Dr. Lawrence O. Swain:

The American Baptist Churches of Ohio is in the first year of our new region vision “Rise Up and Build.” I am pleased to report to you that twenty congregations are participating in the first cycle of the transformation journey. As I attend the learning cluster gatherings with these churches I hear and experience the signs of new life and hope for these churches.

ABC/Ohio wants to become more focused and effective in achieving the vision and assisting churches in the transformation journey. As we become more effective we know that churches will benefit in their efforts to transform persons' lives and build the Kingdom of God.

To assist us in our efforts ABC/Ohio has secured the services of Mark L. Vincent, Lead Partner of Design For Ministry. Design For Ministry is a consulting firm that assists denominations, churches, and individuals in a variety of organizational and ministry needs. Many of you have met Mark in 2005 when he spoke at ABC/Ohio’s Church Leadership Conference in April and the Bible and Missions Conference in September.
