The 182nd Annual Gathering of the
American Baptist Churches of Ohio
October 18-20, 2007

The 182nd Annual Gathering of the American Baptist Churches of Ohio will be held on October 18-20, 2007. This year’s event is being hosted by the churches of the Miami Baptist Association and will be held in Mason, Ohio (just north of Cincinnati). All activities will take place at the Cincinnati Marriott Northeast located at 9964 Mason-Montgomery Road in Mason.

Servant Leaders: Called, Anointed, Sent is the theme for this year’s Annual Gathering based on John 13:13-14. Again this year’s event will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday. Our opening plenary session will be held on Thursday afternoon with the Presidential Address, Ministry Team Reports, Election of Officers and Award Presentations taking place during this time.

Our keynote speaker, the Rev. Dr. Milfred Minatrea, will be speaking four times, including Saturday morning, which will bring our time together to a close at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Minatrea will share with us from his book titled “Shaped by God’s Heart” offering insights on the effective practices of missional churches.

On Friday afternoon, during our plenary session, we will hear from Dr. Swain, Executive Minister for the American Baptist Churches of Ohio. Following this session we will again have our Election District Meetings.

The Local Arrangements Team, under the leadership of Rev. Karen Helton, has been working hard to make this year’s Annual Gathering a meaningful experience for all who attend.
